2023 Volvo FM Electric Truck – DFDS, Northern Europe’s largest shipping and logistic company, placed an order for 100 Volvo FM Electric trucks, which is a new record for Volvo Trucks. We believe that the company was testing one the Volvo FM Electric prototypes in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Volvo Trucks reports that a few hundred high-powered electric trucks exceeding 16 tons have been registered this year, and around 40% of them were Volvos. Volvo Trucks will launch three new models in Europe next year, the Volvo FM Electric, FMX Electric, and FH Electric. They will be joining the FL Electric and FE Electric models, as well VNR Electric (in North America).

The vehicle has a combined weight of up to 44 tonnes and a range of approximately 300 km (186 miles). According to the specs, some configurations can travel up to 380km (236 miles) with the 540-kWh battery.
