2023 Mitsubishi ASX Small Crossover – Mitsubishi declared in July 2020 that they would not introduce any new models to Europe, and instead chose to keep the current models. Mitsubishi announced plans to launch two Renault-based vehicles on the Old Continent in March 2021. Mitsu said that the vehicles would come to market by 2023 and be manufactured in France by the company with the diamond logo.

Fast forward to this week, the conference held by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance included some tidbits about the new vehicles. The ASX, the next-generation vehicle, will go on sale in early 2023. The ASX will be heavily inspired by the Captur, but it will also be a rebadged car.

The teaser shows it will look very different but we know that somebody’s panels will stay the same. It is becoming outdated considering the subcompact crossover has been around since 2010. It will be replaced in the same factory that produces the Captur in Valladolid. Mitsubishi maintains that its B-segment crossover will be sold with hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains. This is clearly inherited from its French sibling.

2023 Mitsubishi ASX Small Crossover Revealed

Details about the second model have not been released, other than the fact that they will be available later in 2023. It will be the same Mitsubishi design as the first model, but it will have an electrified Renault powertrain. According to Logic, it will be bigger than the ASX. It could be a compact crossover, which is also twinned to Austral, the Kadjar replacement. It hasn’t yet been confirmed so it is speculation.
