Another thing you can expect from the ID.3R is the GTX badge. These letters are reserved only for high-performance ID ranges. VW however keeps them away from ID cars with two motors and an all-wheel-drivetrain layout. This is the U.S.-bound ID. Frank Welsch (VW’s chief development officer) stated that an all-wheel-drive ID.3 option was possible. In an interview with Autocar, this was confirmed. In the initial-generation hatchback model, this option will not be available.
