2024 Mitsubishi Triton – The Mitsubishi, also known by the Ram 1200 (Middle East), and Fullback (badly engineered by Fiat), is still not at its full potential. Mitsubishi, an automaker based in Shiba, hopes to enter the US mid-size car market with its next-generation Triton. Mitsubishi will have to wait for this process. In that it doesn’t have much money to invest in research or development, the Japanese automaker is very similar to Subaru. But following the acquisition by Nissan, there’s no denying the synergies of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance will help the once-struggling automaker.

Wards Auto spoke with Mark Chaffin who stated that he would love to see a pickup made in North America. According to chief operating officers, the pickup is the most sought-after model among Mitsubishi dealers in America. The last time Mitsubishi had one in America was in 2009. It was called Raider. It was based upon Dodge Dakota’s Chrysler ND platform.

Frontier will share the platform for the next generation Triton. The 2024 launch of the new Nissan model is anticipated. The underpinnings for the new Nissan model are slightly different from the Navara which was sold in Europe. Frontier pickup trucks are affordable at $19,000. (Excludes destination charges).

American mid-size pickups are becoming more popular, but the Ranger 2019 has yet to leave the dealer lot for the first quarter of 2023. The EcoBoost-engined, workhorse, uses more fuel than the EPA ratings and was outsold in the first quarter of 2023 by the Frontier, Colorado, and Tacoma. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has a different approach to mid-size pickups. While the Dakota is still available, other products are important. Ram will soon launch the Rebel TRX/Rebel TRX to compete against the Silverado 1500 Trail Boss and F-150 Raptor.
