2024 Honda Prologue Electric SUV – Honda predicts that by 2030, fuel cell and battery electric vehicles will make up 40% of the company’s North American annual sales. The company will double this percentage by 2035 before it switches to zero emissions by the end of the decade. General Motors has joined forces with it to launch a series of products that eliminates the combustion engine. It will be available in 2024 as an SUV named “Prologue”. Today’s teaser photo/video combo focuses only on the name of the vehicle. The actual design is not shown in the teaser photo/video combo. Honda’s luxury division Acura will launch its own electric SUV later in the year using the same GM-sourced platform.
2024 Honda Prologue Electric SUV Redesign
This announcement comes just a few weeks after Honda announced that it would cease production of the Clarity Fuel Cell sedan/Plug-in Hybrid. Japanese automaker Honda is also developing its own EV platform. It will be available to the public in the second decade of the decade, following its partnership with GM. It will be known as “architecture” and will be available in other North American markets.
The electric SUV has been teased by Dave Gardner, executive vice president at American Honda. The new electric SUV will feature the same “excellent functionality” as Honda’s. He said that it “signals the role it will play in our zero-emission future.”
