2024 Chevy Corvette Z06 GT3.R – It is believed that the Chevrolet C8.R race car’s 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V-8 engine created the basis for the engine utilized in the brand Z06, the brand new C8 Corvette Z06, which is returning to its classic heritage in 2023. The pace is only getting to the point of Corvette racing as this C8.R is set to be replaced with the new Z06 GT3.R which will be available for the 2024 season. Additionally, an option for customer racing will also be offered as BMW, Ferrari, McLaren, and Porsche to mention some, have been doing for a long time.

Chevrolet’s latest customer race car is built on the same chassis made of aluminum that is used in its C8 Z06 road car however it’s been modified to be used on tracks only. Chevy claims it features the same aerodynamic shape as the road car, except the huge GT3 wings and other aerodynamic features that are designed for GT3 racing as well. The road car comes with the Z07 performance package that includes carbon wheels, more grippy tires, and bigger wings. Chevrolet Racing has yet to provide details on the rest of the race car’s features.
Its naturally-aspirated 5.5-liter V-8 is modified for use in the Z06 GT3.R and, according to the regulations of the series that limit it to between 500 to 600 horsepower. The LT6 engine is used for the manufacturing car was first utilized in the C8.R has the highest power naturally-aspirated V-8 engine that has ever been installed in the road car that produces the equivalent of 670 horsepower, and 460 pounds-feet of torque. Chevrolet has also announced that they will participate in multiple endurance racing championships within the C8.R for the 2022 season, including the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship. Chevrolet is planning to form a two-car team at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.
