Twin-turbo V6s can produce up to 440 horsepower. This is more than what a 5.7-liter engine can achieve. It also consumes less fuel. These are just a few of the reasons that high expectations are placed on it. Rumors have resurfaced about the 2023 Toyota Tundra Diesel. We still think this is unlikely to happen. Japanese companies are turning to greener power sources and it’s only a matter of time before non-US models will be able to replace oil burners in their lineups.

For now, we don’t believe Toyota should be worried about Hyundai Santa Cruz. Ford Ranger is an excellent reason to keep track of the 2023 Toyota Tacoma. Like for Tundra, diesel is not likely. We are not surprised by hybrids or all-electric versions. This company already delivers bug SUVs with these drivetrains. It’s only a matter of time before the truck segment will be electrified. A new Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro version should be available in 2023. This truck is capable enough to compete with the Chevy Colorado ZR2 and the Ford Ranger Raptor. The update is available for the base model. 2020 was the last year of modifications.

The Toyota Hilux 2023 is not available in the US. It is available in Tacoma around the globe. The Hilux still uses diesel engines which are very popular in Europe and Asia. You can choose from the Rugged package or, if you’re Australian, the Invincible on-road model. The 2.4-liter diesel engine might soon be discontinued, leaving only a 2.7-liter petrol option. The 2023 Toyota Hilux will use the same hybrid powertrain if Tacoma is given one. This truck will face similar competition to its US sibling, the Ford Ranger, Nissan Navara, Frontier, but also the Mitsubishi L200 and Mazda BT-50.
