2023 Ram Dakota Review
Do you recall the Dodge Dakota? The Dodge Ram Dakota was canceled in 2011 due to declining demand for compact trucks. Ford Ranger was also demolished due to similar reasons. Dodge Durango was built using the Dakota platform. Ram has a plan to take over the mid-sized truck market after the Jeep Gladiator failed to become as popular as people thought. Stellantis has yet to reveal much information about the 2023 Ram Dakota. According to rumors, the new Dakota won’t be a compact truck like Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz. The Dakota will face off against well-known rivals like the Chevy Colorado or Toyota Tacoma.
Rumors suggest that the Dakota could be a body-on-frame truck, similar to the Honda Ridgeline. It could also be able to ride on the Ram 1500 platform. The EcoDiesel 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine will be available to the Dakota with 260 horsepower, and 485 lbft torque. If the Jeep Gladiator4xe is released this year, the Dakota could also receive the same hybrid powertrain. The most exciting rumors revolve around the Ram Dakota SRT model. The Maverick could also have a race track trim. A Ram Dakota off-roading trim for 2023 is also possible.
