2023 GMC Sierra HD Magna Etelligent Force – Unfortunately, electrification will be the future for the automotive industry. Although EVs still have some drawbacks, the technology is improving and range will improve. Magna offers a solution for those who aren’t interested in buying a new vehicle but want to switch to electrification later. Their Etelligent Force powertrain is currently in a GMC Sierra HD and is being prototype tested.
Magna stated that the unique electric drivetrain is designed to keep pickups’ full capabilities while reducing gas power’s payload and towing capacity. The Etelligent Force powertrain can tow up to 14,500 pounds. The company’s eDrive technology is used at the front, and the eBeam electrified bead axle at the back. It can fit in existing heavy-duty pickup trucks and other trucks without any modifications. The total peak power of the system is estimated to be 420 kW (or 575 horsepower). 250kW (335 ponies), from the rear beam and 180kW (220 hp) at the front eDrive.

It shows that most components of the GMC Sierra HD are the same except for the engine and drivetrain. They compare and test the trucks with the same tires, shocks, and wheels. Magna claims that the GMC Sierra HD’s weight, coupled with the Etelligent force powertrain, can accelerate from 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. This is remarkable for any vehicle but even more impressive for a heavy-duty pickup truck.
