2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe – The current Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class model is definitely not outdated. GLE Coupe is a compact and sleek version of Mercedes-Benz GLE. It was introduced in 2019 as a 2021 model. We are only one month away from 2022. We have seen GLE test cars with camouflage at the front and back. Mercedes seems to be keen to keep its lineup relevant in this highly competitive segment.

We have seen many GLE coupe prototypes in the last months. This is the second time we have seen them. The brave spy photographers have set up camp in Sweden to capture cold-weather testing. The camera seems to be loved by this red Merc. Camouflage body wrap covers the front fascia. The corner vents are now smaller and can no longer fit in the narrow opening below the grille. The lowest vent has been split in two, as opposed to the one on the current model.

New Design
Camouflage around the headlights suggests a subtle redesign. The lenses could shrink in size. Camouflage tape should be limited to the taillights at the rear. It is not possible to tell if the lenses actually are smaller but it could be used to distract attention from the rear fascia. The current model has narrow vertical accents at each corner of the rear wheels. These are joined by a prominent body line that crosses the lower part of the liftgate. The only place you can see the body line is here, accents are absent.

The Coupe’s backside is smoother than that of the GLE SUV. This sighting suggests that Mercedes might be moving in a more minimalist direction than its rival BMW. The rear fascia of the test car does not appear to be in production. We don’t expect the new model to be released before the end of this year, despite the lack of camouflage. The reveal could take place in the latter half of the year or, at best, into 2023.
