What’s New for 2022?
Toyota offers the Tundra the much-needed, comprehensive revamp after the previous generation was largely unchanged from its first appearance in 2007. Even though it was refreshed for the 2014 model year the Tundra struggled to take the market share from half-ton domestic rivals like that of Ford F-150, the Ram 1500 as well as The Chevy Silverado 1500, or the GMC Sierra 1500. Engines
The Tundra is a departure from the previous models’ selection of a normally produced V6 or V8 for the choice dual twin-turbo 3.5L V6s. One is electrically augmented by the hybrid system. The base V6 produces 389 horsepower as well as 479 pounds of torque. Both are improvements in comparison to the 5.7L V8 engine that drove the 2021 Tundra. It produced 381 horsepower as well as 401 pound-feet in torque. In addition, a hybrid’s electric engine raises the 2022 Tundra’s horsepower to 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque.
